Abstract
A simplified method, less labor-intensive than the existing ones, for developing flame propagation geometry and constructing a two-zone combustion model in the ICE cylinder is proposed. The method is based on using one ionization probe removed from the sparking plug. The experimental results processed in accordance with the method proposed can be used for engineering calculations at the predesign stage of developing newinternal combustion engines as well as for the operational development of the existing ICE working process when alternative fuels are used.
