Abstract
This work substantiates the appropriateness of micro-arc oxidation technology usage for hardening of silumin with a silicon content of 6 ... 11% in the manufacture of major body parts of engines, and also the titanium alloy VT1. Results of preliminary research experiments, and study the main factors affecting the quality of the coating were described.
