Combustion of condensed substance in the electrostatic field

Abstract

The paper presents the results of experimental investigation of the influence of the external electrostatic field on the mass burning rate of tridekane, PMMA, SKN-26, SKMS-30, localized in the zone of gas phase reactions and c-phase. The influence of the field on the gas phase results in changing the form of the flame tongue and chemiionization reactions proceeding in it, which leads to changing the burning rate. The intensity of combustion decreases if the liquid c-phase is first exposed to the field. This effect has not been detected in polymers.
