Abstract
The paper deals with the influence of magnitude and direction of ultrasound vibrations in the process of thread cutting on the magnitude and sign of residual stresses and their distribution in the surface layer of pieces made of titanium alloys. The results obtained confirm real prospects of improving the characteristics of fatigue resistance of thread pieces by changing various technological parameters of ultrasonic treatment.
