STRINGENCY OF HUMANITARIAN KNOWLEDGE AND «SMALL» SCIENCE

Abstract

The article substantiates the thesis of Heidegger on inexactitude as a specificity of stringency of humanitarian knowledge. The rationale relies on the special (flowing) nature of the given objects of the humanities, which gives the concepts of these sciences inexactitude. The stringency of humanitarian knowledge is determined not by the exactitude of its terminology, but by its adequacy.

NIKOLAY IVANOVICH SALTYKOV: 68 YEARS AT THE FOOT OF THE RUSSIAN OLYMPUS

Abstract

The article is devoted to the biography of his serene Highness Prince N.I. Saltykov (1736–1816), the key milestones of his 68 years of service to the Russian Imperial Household. He was a contemporary of seven rulers of the Russian Empire, and he served five of them. He didn’t fall, and his career had developed the most successful way. Many contemporaries gave negative characteristics to Saltykov, but he was awarded many honors and awards, using the great trust of the members of.the Imperial family. The author tries to determine how valid are conclusions about him by his contemporaries and analyzes various sources (letters, notes, diaries of his contemporaries), attracts with archival material.

The activities of the Samara Governor A.D. Sverbeev

Abstract

The article examines the activities of the Governor Alexander Dmitrievich Sverbeev. The analysis of decisions of the governor and their practical implementation are presented. New facts of his official biography were reconstructed. The characteristics of Sverbeev’s business quality and their influence on the management mechanism are given. The quantitative parameters of functioning of governor’s authority (the number of orders, the volume of correspondence, etc.) have been revealed. The role of the Samara governor in the struggle against the food crisis and the famine of 1891 is considered. The reasons for the transfer of A.S. Sverbeeva from the position of the Samara governor; the results of his reign are evaluated.

The article analyzes the complex of personal documents of A.D. Sverbeev, on the basis of which a detailed description of his personality is given, new biographical data are presented. The diaries and memoirs of the Samara governor contain the richest material both in the history of the Russian Empire and in the history of the administrative and socio-economic development of the Samara province of the late 19th century.

REVOLUTION OF THE 1917 IN THE PERCEPTION OF THE RUSSIAN INTELLIGENTSIA

Abstract

The article contains the comparison between the perceptions of the revolutionary events of the 1917 which were reflected in the diaries and journalistic works by the prominent Russian writers and thinkers: Nicolai Berdyaev, Alexander Blok, Sergei Bulgakov, Ivan Bunin, Zinaida Gippius, Maxim Gorky, Youri Gauthier, Mikhail Prishvin, Vasily Vasilievich Rozanov, Semyon Lyudvigovich Frank and others. The author reveals some key themes in their works which were written in the 1917–1918: recognition of the irreversibility of the revolutionary changes; disappointment with the former visions and beliefs in the people and the intelligentsia; the crisis of the humanistic values. She argues that the representatives of the Russian intelligentsia searched solutions of the urgent problems in the classic Russian literature and the works of historians; literature and history proved to be the only milestone in the midst of the crisis of values.

«THE OVERCOAT»: A VANGUARD FILM VERSION OF THE CLASSICS

Abstract

The subject about interaction of literature and cinematography in the 1920-ies is touched in the article. Modern-day opinion about dismissive attitude of the vanguard cinematography to Russian classics needs detailing and review. One of the proofs of two kinds of Art interacting is Tynyanov’s participating in cinematization of «The Overcoat» by Gogol as a script writer. The peculiarity of Tynyanov’s approach was about assembling plenty plots of Russian classical prose. «Movie-essay of Gogol’s style» was a pathbreaking extempore themed on numerous works of Gogol, Tolstoy, Pushkin and Dostoyevskiy. Thus, literature text was completely changed with keeping different origin motives and artistic image. In the article we can see examination and conclusion of how cinematography and poetry reunited in the screenplay of Yuriy Tynyanov. Also, the role of intertextuality in the film artistic integrity is considered.

Abstract

The article analyzes the role of the modern documentary-fictional radio programs Feature in the genre system in Germany. As a description method serves the functional-objective approach for definition and differentiation of media genres. The article answers the questions about a goal of journalistic impact typical for Feature, objective strategies and an interactive specialty of formal, compositional and acoustic elements accessible for this genre. The distinct aspect is represented by the categories of documentary and fiction which are central for determination of the genre status of Radiofeature.
