Abstract
The article deals with the problems of equivalence as a translation category. There are given some opinions on the topic discussed proposed by Russian and Western linguists. It is supposed that a multi-sided analysis of translation as a global phenomenon will lead to new perspective results.The aim is to show the importance of interpreting translation within the limits of modern society changeable demands.
