Modern organizations to generate profits and achieve positive results from investments create investment portfolios to reduce the risk of losing money invested, as well as to improve their profitability. The process of formation of the investment portfolio is connected with the selection of a certain set of investment objects for the implementation of investment activities (using special techniques), choosing the way to manage and analyze the potential risks that the organization will face.

The article deals with the problems of attracting foreign direct investments in Russia. The ways of attracting foreign direct investments in the economy of our country are given, and a description of the investment climate in Russia is given. The article presents the dynamics of changes in foreign direct investment in Russia for 2010-2017, as well as their distribution by sectors of the economy and the total number of investment projects for the period presented.

The article considers international experience of digital business transformation, which is becoming more important in connection with a new stage of society development. Also the features of digital transformation of companies in the developed countries (such as USA, China, EU countries, etc.) and the reasons of Russia’s lagging behind them were revealed. The positive impact of digitalization on the country’s economy is substantiated.

The article researches some laws relating to the war and the army – their evolution, position in the society and relationship with the state political system. Significant consideration is paid to the issue of regular armies and the universal army conscription. Confirmations of the clearly attenuation of wars are reflected, but for the time being, however, wars remain actual.

With the presented article, the concept, content and model of assessing the image of the municipality are considered. Each territory has its own regional, national, economic, socio-psychological specificity, reflected in the image. There are quite a few contradictions in the study of the effective image of a municipality, in particular, between the significance of this problem and its insufficient scientific elaboration; between the complex nature of the problem and the dominance of one-sided approaches; between the spontaneity of the formation of a regional image and the need for its purposeful change. The noted phenomena and contradictions required special fundamental and applied research of the image of the municipality.

Modern strategies of management of an organization require the formation of special management approaches based on the analysis of the mechanisms and processes of organization of activities related to possible personnel risks in activity of personnel. Personnel risks arise in the personnel management system and reflect the increase in the importance of the human factor in organizational development. The article reviews the relevance of human resource risk study.

The article deals with adaptive forecasting, which is one of the modern directions of statistical analysis and forecasting of time series. Using the stock data as an example, the forecast is calculated by the method of autoregression of the AR (1,1), the autoregression model of the final varieties of the AR (1,1), and ARISS (1,1,1) – the Box – Jenkins model.

The paper discusses the relationship of economic risks and reliability of hydraulic systems. A method for calculating economic risks is presented on the basis of reliability of elements of the system for regulating the movement of overhead doors of the Balakovo shipping lock.
