Abstract

The basic modes of flow about a launch vehicle with large nose fairings are discussed, some actual trajectories taken as an example. The Reynolds and Mach numbers are calculated on the basis of the parameters of the given trajectories, the modes of flow about the launch vehicles are determined. The possibility of using the ANSYS FLUENT software for the simulation of the flow about a launch vehicle on the actual trajectory is dealt with.
