Abstract
The paper presents the main stages of calculating residual stresses developing during thermoplastic strengthening in parts like compressor blades. It also shows the results of investigating scale factor influence on the possibility of developing favorable stressed state in their surface layer. It has been found that blades with profile thickness h > 2 mm are easily strengthened in the above mentioned way. For thermal strengthening of thin blades (h = 0,5... 1,5 mm) we suggest using additionally a special elastic metal tank. The efficiency of its use is justified by the results of residual stress calculating.
