Abstract

The article is devoted to an electronic active type dictionary representing the basic constants of traditional speech culture. The focus is on the research of derivational, motivational, syntagmatic, paradigmatic links of the entry word Zemlya (Earth, Ground, Soil), and on exposing the word sense actualized in dialect utterances as well as the meanings of the concept representatives in the dialect speech of the polyethnic region. In the new dictionary semantic-cognitive analysis, as it is shown in the article, precedes lexicographic description of the key words of traditional culture. The article demonstrates how traditional speech culture of the middle Irtysh region objectifies the semantics rooted in the etymology of the key word, and forms the principal meaning of the key word zemlya – ’soil’ in the language consciousness of the contemporary dialect speaker, featuring geocentristic views of the countryside dwellers, and the fundamental traits of folk mentality in general.
