In the article on the example of the play by L. Andreev «King Hunger» complex symbolization of the text on such artistic levels as conflict and plot construction, characters’ construction, spatio–temporal organization, speech organization, paratext (in particular – tsvetopis, light painting, zvukopis in remarks), and header complex aimed at the expression of author’s copyright and the expression of author’s consciousness is investigated.
