Abstract

«Hard-working bee» was a unique for the XVIII century edition. The author of the «Reasoning…» about the virtues of author of stories was Nikolay Nikolaevich Motonis, companion-in-arms of A.P. Sumarokov, luminous rhetor, member of the Academy of sciences. The author develops rhetoric provisions of M.V. Lomonosov in poetological aspect: he studies how to write, and at the same time he gives an example of rhetoric composition. The communicative model by Motonis suggests an active reader, and the reading itself is viewed as as a complex activity by him. Creating intersection of discources of the author and the reader, Motonis actively uses technics developed by an ancient rhetoric and «rehabilitated» by the practice of writers-enlighteners of the XVIII century.
