Abstract
The current paper represents analysis of contemporary elitism concepts, evolved in the second part of the XX century. The paper is focused on the examination of various approaches applied to tackle the problems related to the elitism of the society. The following methods are tested in the current study: democratic elitism, «Machiavellian» elitism, liberal elitism, technological elitism, «antimachiavellian» version of elitism, pluralistic approach, value approach, the conservative version of elitism, neo-conservatism.
