Abstract
Abbreviated terms are an integral part of medical professional discourse and allow to express the ultimate information in compressed form. Abbreviations display the dynamism of professional communication, active verbal and cogitative activity in the denomination of studied phenomena. Knowledge structures underlying the abbreviations are studied in the article within the context of cognitive and discursive paradigm.
