Abstract

The paper is devoted to the problem of interaction between the cognitive structures of discourses connected by means of a citation in the media text. Nowadays the issue of interaction of discourses is still
understudied. The analysis of citation and the receiving text, belonging
to different discourses suggests an address to the presentive and referential situations and their cognitive models, which reside in the memories of the speakers and to a great extent determine the semantics and pragmatics of interacting texts. The authors, in particular, refer to the issue of interaction between cognitive structures of discourses, the connection between which is established as a result of inclusion of a citation in the publicistic text. In such cases the cognitive models of situations rendered by a citation and a receiving text are compared. One of the components of a model is foregrounded and becomes dominant, thus influencing interpretation of the receiving text and situation rendered by it.
