Abstract
The article deals with the biography and personal characteristics
of the Samara governor Alexander Dmitrievich Sverbeev on the
basis of documents of a personal origin. The article shows the
main directions of its administrative activities, the characteristics
of social and economic development of the Samara province in
the end of the XIX century are given.
