Abstract
In the article reference comparative constructions, containing in the capacity of an image of comparison abstract nouns are analyzed. The content of the most productive abstract references of intensity of characteristics is determined, the mechanisms of formation at abstract substantives of imaginative meanings are studied, and peculiarities of functioning of reference comparisons in the poetic speech are viewed.
