UNIVERSITY IN A GLOBAL WORLD: «EXISTENCE IN RUINS» OR A NEW GOLDEN AGE?

Abstract

The article raises the issue of the loss of self-justification standard
models by the universities in the era of transnational global
economy, «cognitive capitalism» and institutional pragmatism. The
article poses the problem of influence of new civilization factors
on traditional educational formats of University, ways of academic
and scientific communication, negative and positive aspects of this
influence are described in the article. Special place in the article is
given to the macro and micro aspects of impact of emerged and
increasing every day global, open and free educational sites and
new technologies of electronic remote communications on the
modern university
