Abstract
In the article the evolution of protests of the clergy from open political demonstrations against Soviet rule in 1918 to moderate resistance for social and economic reforms in 1919-1922 is described; the methods of church policy of Soviet government are shown and the role of GPU in the split of Samara diocese is revealed.
