Abstract
The article considers the structure of the value of a common Slavic root *věr- and the result of its changes in the history of the Russian language. For this purpose, a set of semantic microfields constituting the nest, and semantic changes in lexical composition of the root nest with the top вера revealed. The connection of semantic microfields and word-building features of nest is considered.
