Abstract

This article is about the reception of one of the traditional stories of world literature in the novel “The House of Doctor Dee” by P. Ackroyd. Comparative analysis of the novel by Ackroyd, the Faust book, “The Tragical History of the Life and Death of Doctor Faustus” by K. Marlowe, “Faust” by J.W. Goethe led to
the conclusion that “The House of Doctor Dee” is a Faustian story with a significant transformation.
