Abstract
In the article the monography of Samara researcher E.Yu. Semenova which is devoted to the problem of social and cultural transformations of urban population in the extreme conditions of the wartime is reviewed. E.Yu. Semenova explores changes in conscience, world views, behavioral practices of the ordinary people involved in global historical events.
