THE PROBLEM OF DEVELOPMENT OF ARMED FORCES IN LOWER REACHES OF THE VOLGA REGION IN THE END OF THE XVII - BEGINNING OF XVIII CENTURIES

The article is devoted to the development of armed forces of the Russian state in towns of the lower reaches of the Middle and Lower Volga region at the turn of XVIIth-XVIIIth centuries. The changes in structure and number of urban garrisons from 1660 to 1704 years are analyzed, relations between different groups of service class people are considered. Previously unpublished archival documents were used at writing of this article.
