Abstract
The article studies some significant issues of Russian literary expressionism history and theory. The interaction between Russian and Western expressionism in the field of literature and culture of the XX century’s first decades is noted. Russian expressionism peculiarities are as follows: combining the opposites, blurred borderlines of the phenomenon, facing the extremities as well as the use of traditional art techniques in a new nontraditional sense.
