Abstract
If in the regulatory function of law has long recognized the existence of two specific subfunctions - static and dynamic, the question of the guarding function subfunctions usually is not discussed. This article analyzes the relationship of the guarding function of law and related areas of legal action: preventive, punitive, rehabilitation, compensation and other, thereby forming an indicative list of the guarding function subfunctions of the Russian law.
