Abstract
The article discusses changes in the family of words with the root -вhр- in the history of Russian language with address to the data of Old Slavonic language. Time of occurrence of lexemes with the root -вер- of modern Russian language is found, and the paradigm that existed in the history of Russian language, but subsequently lost is examined. Family of words with the root вер- in modern Russian language and -вер-/-вяр- in modern Bulgarian language are compared.
