Abstract
The article deals with topical problems of contemporary theatre and dramatic art and the achievements of Polish drama over the last decade in particular. Special attention is paid to the artistic problems. The problem of drama text translation into stage language is illustrated with the help of the play «Coronation» by M. Modzelevskiy.
