Abstract
In the article the mechanisms of formation of semantics of the derivative word on the material of lexemes with the root morpheme *laz- in modern Slavic languages and dialects are investigated. It is revealed that the derivational paradigm of considered lexemes submits to the metonymic logic of development, possesses high semantic potential and shows the interrelation of such important categories, organizing a conceptual picture of the world, as space, movement, activity.
