Abstract
Inability of classical economic theory that gives little attention to the investigation of institutional environment of activity of subjects of economy, gave rise to the appearing in the last century of a new economic school (new direction in economic science) that is called instutional economic theory. The founder of transformation in sociological researches of historicism in institutionalism is justly considered the economist of the USA – Veblen Th. (1857–1929), and the most prominent scientists in this area are the economists: of Great Britain – Gibson J. (1858–1940), of Russia – Bogdanov A.A. (1873–1928), of the USA – Mitchell W. (1874–1948), Commons J. (1862–1945), Schumpeter J. (1883–1950), Coase R. (1910–2013), Buchanan J. (1854–1934), Becker G. (1930-2014), Pozner R. (1939) and of Germany Eucken W. (1891–1950).
