Abstract
The article analyzes the minimum wage dynamics in the Russian Federation regions during the past 15 years. Russian regions were divided into three groups in accordance with the minimum wage establishing method: the regions establishing minimum wage as a fixed value, as a percentage of the cost of living and as the federal level of minimum wage. Analysis of the Russian Federation regions distribution of the minimum wage purchasing capacity and the proportion of employees with wages lower than living cost, has proved that working poverty is not connected with the value and with the method of minimum wage establishing in the Russian Federation regions.
