Abstract

This article analyzes factors that contribute to wage differentiation in the labour market of Russian regions. It is proved that the level of wages at the Russian labour market doesn’t depend on the qualification of workers, but it depends on the economic sphere and the region in which the employee works. On the basis of statistical data it is identified that employment in Russia does not guarantee protection from poverty. The author proposes some measures to reduce wage differentiation at the regional level in Russia.
