Abstract
In the article it is shown that as a result of activity of Academic Expedition of 1768-1774 data that allowed to fully consider Northern (Kalmyk) Buddhism on the territory of Russia were collected; studies on Kalmyk faith, materials for which were collected and processed by Stavropol Orthodox priest Andrey Chubovskiy were written; collection of burhans and sacral Buddhist things produced by Mongolian, Nepalese and Tibetan masters was bought for the Cabinet of curiosities; religious constructions and natural objects - places of worship of Kalmyks were described.
