Abstract
In the article the analysis of development of competitive theory and competitiveness of organizations is carried out. It is shown that evolution of competitiveness had a number of stages, basic scientists that worked in the investigation of competitiveness and their basic considerations are noted. Competitive theory, developed by the classics of political economy became one of the first fundamental scientific research results devoted to the notions and basic foundations of competitiveness in the development of society
