Abstract

The article explains the advisability of study of social class identity in contemporary Russian society to develop effective social and economic public policy. On the example of study of middle class of the Samara region scientific and practical importance of study of social-class groups in Russian society as an object of social identity and as a concept which is filled with complex of subjective meanings is shown.
