Abstract
In the article the author analyzes theoretical bases of informatization in the process of social development. The analysis of features, characteristics of the concepts of «informatization» is carried out; the author’s definition is given. Basic economic characteristics of informatization are identified. Theoretical issues of application of information and communicative technologies concerning the issues of increasing effectiveness of management by economic systems are considered.
