Abstract
This article provides an overview of theoretical views of economists about the economy of knowledge and innovation. The basic concepts and definitions in the field of philosophical trends of the terms “knowledge” and “knowledge economy” are described.The formation and development of knowledge economy theoretical directions is shown, the basic concepts and structure of economy of the modern period are disclosed. The author analyzes the structure of national wealth in developed countries, and proposes a system of evaluation of the knowledge economy. The paper reflects the further development of this economic trend.
