Abstract
In the article the analysis of macroeconomic models of aggregate demand from the positions of different economic schools – Keynesianism and monetarism is carried out, as well as their fundamental contradictions about the necessity of government intervention in the economy are shown. The basic concepts of economic transformation: “shock”, gradualist and institutional one are viewed. On the basis of analysis of these concepts, author notes that for substantiation of recommendations corresponding to realities, in countries with transition economy it is necessary to use an approach alternative to modern macroeconomic mainstream.
