Banks. As the research shows, the specificity of the novel is primarily in the dynamic construction of the plot, based on the laws of hypertext and intertext, which are inherent for postmodernism. The main problem of the novel was also discovered: the philosophical problem of the correlation of realities, the struggle of world for authenticity. The novel's peculiarity also lies in the fact that it involves metaphysical and game theories which serve to describe and study the behavior of the characters. As a conclusion this article suggests the thesis that the novel stands at the point of merging of two directions of I. Banks poetics: science fiction and postmodern narrative, which determines the artistic specifics of the novel.</p>постмодернизмгипертекстинтертексталлюзиятеория игртранзактный анализметафизические референтысимулякрpostmodernismhypertextintertextallusiongame theorytransactional analysismetaphysical referentssimulacrum
