The Laue back-reflection method for determination orientation and subgrains disorientation of blade manufacture single-crystal pieces

Tikhomirova E.A., Sidokhin E.F.

Abstract

The technological production process for single-crystal turbine blades requires control of the crystallographic orientation in both manufactured blades, as well as in many auxiliary pieces. The Laue back-reflection method is the simplest and quickest method for these tasks. It is also the quickest and simplest method in terms of technical equipment requirements. The paper presents an original computerised method for processing back-reflection Laue images (epigrams) and a specialised, small table-top unit to determine the orientation of single-crystal objects, as well as disorientation between grains in the object. Comparative results using the Laue method and diffractometry method for testing single-crystal items made from heat-resistant metal alloys from four engine plants are presented.

About investigations the orientation dependence of single-crystal turbine blade exploitation properties

Tikhomirova E.A., Givushkin A.A., Sidokhin E.F.

Abstract

In published investigations the orientation dependence of single-crystal turbine blade exploitation properties was considered for three load directions: <001>, <011> and <111>. A maximum load axis deviation of 10° was allowed. The deviation influence below this allowed limit is considered negligible. Plastic deformation is caused by slip and is contingent on shear stress in the slip plane. Crystal orientation parameters were calculated for the load axes deviation from the <001> direction, as is used in industrial blade testing. It was established that orientation axis deviation within the accepted 10 degree range may substantially alter plastic deformation development. Therefore, it is expedient to take into account the actual sample orientation and the slip plane tension and not only the applied tension during technological testing and when studying the impact of various influences on alloy properties.

Heat engine cycle limitations imposed by fuel properties

Mikheyenkov E.L.

Abstract

The heat energy of fuels used in a heat engine cycle is the source of the cycle's useful effect. The maximum fuel efficiency is particularly desirable in rocket and aircraft engines due their carrying the fuel (and the oxidant, in rocket engines) during the entire mission. In vehicle engines and power plants fuels are selected based on their cost and availability. Using the most prevalent Brayton cycle as an example, the article considers parameters that determine the maximum available heat factor introduced by a fuel into the cycle. Two parameters limiting the Brayton cycle's efficiency are considered, the maximum efficiency imposed by strength properties of materials and the maximum level of combustion products. The values of excess air factors for fuel combustion processes and limiting characteristics of heat engine cycles are determined for the case of Brayton cycles.

Energy sources in heat engine cycles

Mikheyenkov E.L.

Abstract

Thermal energy is, by definition, the source of useful energy (work) in a heat engine. The source of thermal energy is a heat-producing chemical reaction between the substances comprising the working mass of a heat engine, or between additional substances introduced. Heat-producing chemical reaction is called combustion reaction. A combustion reaction involves two types of substances: fuels and oxidants. The products of combustion reaction comprise the working mass of the thermodynamic cycle on its expansion stage, yielding useful energy (work). Energetic characteristics of combustion product generation processes are available for engineering and scientific purposes. There is a system of equations developed in chemical thermodynamics that determine the resulting products and energetic parameters of a reaction. To calculate heat engine cycles, it is necessary to obtain the characteristics of combustion products (thermodynamic properties - heat capacity, specific gas constant) and the maximum temperature levels of reaction products. The article provides an overview of approaches to determine the thermodynamic properties of combustion products and lists the values of these parameters for the most widespread fuels when combusted in air.

Definition of the apparent elastic limit's change in metal materials at nanoporous structures formation

Murzin S.P., Tregub V.I., Osetrov E.L.

Abstract

In the propulsion engineering application of metal materials with nanoporous surface is perspective for rising antifrictional properties of tribological units and interacting surfaces conformability. The method of formation nanoporous structures in metal materials by laser influence is developed. Similar structures could also be received by vacuum isothermal soaking of binary alloys, in this case accumulation of separate and tunnel pores occurs with smaller speed. Dependence of material apparent elastic limit's change on duration of high-temperature influence in vacuum is defined.

Increase of welded joints strength at welding nickel-based alloys by pulse laser influence

Murzin S.P., Tregub V.I., Nikiforov A.M.

Abstract

In the propulsion engineering it's expedient to spend welding of small thickness metal alloys by pulse laser radiation. It's established that formation of welded joint with strip power source gives possibility to increase the weld cross-section area and, as consequence, joint strength. At welding of high-temperature and heat-resistant nickel-based alloys {superalloys} strength of welded joint raises on 10...20 %. Carbides were dissolved, the cast zone has homogeneous structure without emptiness and blisters that specifies in high workability of welded joint.

The intensification of selective laser sublimation processes for nanoporous metal materials formation

Murzin S.P., Osetrov E.L., Tregub V.I.

Abstract

It's expedient to carry out formation of nanoporous metal materials, which have prospects of application in the propulsion engineering for creation of interfaced details blankets in tribological units with raised antifrictional properties, by the selective laser sublimation method. The intensification of laser sublimation processes is possible at increase of thermal-activated diffusion. At the lowered surrounding atmosphere gas pressure heated material's sublimation occurs more intensively, since smaller temperatures.

Shishkov V.A.

Abstract

The start-up the engine of internal combustion with spark ignition with an electronic control system on gas fuel is considered. The influence of temperature the engine of internal combustion on the characteristic of gas submission is shown during start-up and warming up. The bases and features of algorithm of start-up the engine of internal combustion with an electronic control system on gas fuel are described depending on a condition of the engine, quality of fuel and external conditions. The ways of perfection of algorithm of management of start-up the engine of internal combustion on gas fuel are offered.

Abstract

Difficulties of optimization of a power-plant and complexind onboard equipment are connected with dimensions АМП and functional complexity of accessories. To the greatest degree they are shown at the small sizes. At the same time modern technologies allow to create tiny powerful processors.
