Analysis of uncontrolled motion of the “ Soyuz “ carrier rocket orbital stage after payload separation

Belokonov I.V., Storozh A.D., Timbai I.A.

Abstract

Two variants of uncontrolled motion of the “ Soyuz “ carrier rocket after spacecraft separation are discussed in the paper: the motion of the upper stage after the completion of the work of the jet nozzle producing additional force that takes the upper stage away from the spacecraft; and the motion of the stage in case the mode of using the jet nozzle is eliminated in the cyclogram of “ Soyuz “ operation. Probability models of the initial conditions of angular motion are constructed. The peculiarities of the orbital stage motion are revealed, i.e. that it is possible to maintain certain angular orientation during the period of time sufficient for successful performing of navigation-communication tasks in the course of short-term research experiments on the “ Soyuz ” carrier rocket orbital stage after payload separation.

Dynamics of spacecraft landing in the area of its contact with the surface

Voronin V.V.

Abstract

The paper presents a mathematical model of the dynamics of spacecraft motion on the surface since the moment of their contact. The spacecraft body and the elements of the spacecraft’s landing structure are regarded as a mechanical system of complex structure with internal connections. The algorithm of determining the reactions of these connections is obtained. The key parameters that affect the dynamics of the process are revealed, the safety of landing within the limits of concrete restrictions is analyzed.

Dynamics of multilink solar panel deployment process

Ilyasova I.R.

Abstract

A dynamic model of spacecraft solar panel deployment is developed. In describing the motion each body of the system (spacecraft, panels, rods) is considered to be a free one. The action of other bodies on it is accomplished by means of imposed kinematic constraints. A system of equations to determine the reaction of constraints in an arbitrary node of solar battery panel deployment is derived. The main integral parameters of the deployment process are identified: the dependence of the system’s energy, deployment angles and angular velocities of panels and rods on time, the sequence of fixing the panels and rods, the time of the deployment process.

Abstract

The article deals with a speckle-interferometer modification with a speckle-modulated reference wave and bunches passing the same optical way by means of including a digital camera in the speckle-interferometer optical scheme. The modified speckle-interferometer is used for the analysis of compressor blade deformation displacements during static tests. The use of a digital camera makes it possible to increase the image contrast of interference bands and the range of acceptable deformation displacements.

Assessing the impact of non-through cracks (scratches) on the structural strength when designing aircraft

Yakovlev A.S.

Abstract

The aim of the paper is to determine the area of possible ultimate states of a plate made of an ideal elastoplastic material in a plane taut state, with the plate having a blind fractured defect (a scratch). This problem is of a more general character and presents a greater practical interest than just a scratch problem since in thinwalled constructions and enclosures whether it be plane fuselage or rocket fuel tanks etc. there always exist damages resulting from external actions and transforming into scratches in the process of operation.

It their turn, scratch dimensions will gradually increase as a result of cyclic loads arising during operation. There naturally arises a problem of determining the ultimate dimensions of these defects which can result in the fatal failure of the whole structure at a given level of operating loads.

Abstract

The paper presents an analysis of the possibility to detect sharp focused radiation with the help of variously shaped probes. The relations of a beam’s energy characteristics at the input and output of variously shaped scanning probes with different diameters of input windows are worked out. The sensitivity of a tapered dielectric probe to sharp focused radiation with the dominating longitudinal component of the electric field in the central peak of the focal spot is demonstrated.

Comparison of focusing pulse beams with different polarization and duration by a refractive axicon

Meterko A.V., Khonina S.N.

Abstract

The focusing of short and long pulse light beams is simulated using the time-domain finite- difference method with the aid of a refractive axicon. It is shown that the duration of the beam pulse has no effect on the average intensity of the picture in the focal plane, however, very high peak power can beachieves when using short pulses. The numerical results for different types of polarization of the beam incident on the axicon are compared. It is shown that in a tightly focused regime the energy is redistributed between the radial and longitudinal components of the electric field, while the azimuthal component of the energy remains unchanged.

Comparative analysis of parabolic lens and axicon in geometric and scalar paraxial optical models

Ustinov A., Karsakov A.V., Khonina S.N.

Abstract

Accurate analytical expressions are deduced in the framework of a scalar paraxial wave model for the distribution of complex intensity along the optical axis of a parabolic lens and that of an axicon. The expressions are analyzed and compared with the results of ray-optical approximation. Increasing the intensity in the lens focus by increasing its radius is shown to be impossible, whereas it is possible in the case of an axicon.
