Evaluation of internal combustion engine cycle work using an ionic current sensor

Abstract

The interrelation between the electrical conductivity of flame and the internal combustion engine cycle work is found experimentally with the aid of an ionic current sensor installed in a spark ignition internal combustion engine combustion chamber. It is shown that only one ionization cycle is needed for the analysis of combustion process parameters in a spark ignition internal combustion engine.
