Abstract
In the article on the Nart sagas material the value of a number
as a parameter describing the model of the world that has received
national treatment in the Ossetian folk picture of the world is
disclosed. The binary oppositions of the symbolic structures of
reprezentantives жrtж «three» and авд «seven» are identified in the
framework of the Ossetian religious and mythological traditions.
