Temperature’s fields and hydraulic losses in combustion chambers of small gas turbine engines

Abstract

It is shown formation peculiarities of gas temperature fields for combustion chambers of small gas turbine engines. It is described the more sharp calculation model of hydraulic resistance ratio, also in details it is shown the influence of combustion chambers’ design parameters on gas flow’s temperature fields and it is proposed recommendations for design and production of combustion chambers for small gas turbine engines.

Numerical simulation of working process in afterburner chamber of vapour gas machine with NK-37 engine

Abstract

The results of the numerical modeling of the gases mixing and gases mixture combustion processes in the afterburning chamber of the afterburning module for the combined-cycle plant are presented in the article. The characteristic features of the finite-element model of the stabilization system element are described. The burning gases mixture temperature levels, combustion efficiency and nitrogen oxides emission at different operating modes are given and analysed.

It is described questions of CARS spectroscopy nonlinear optical method using in investigations of gas flows, burns and electrical charges. It is shown that the using of this local diagnostic method allows receiving not only quality information, but also quantitative data about frequencies and lines’ width in diffusion specters of molecular transitions, functions of molecule condition’s distribution, temperatures in range 10-4000K and about processes of molecule energy distribution and transmission.

Simulation of lean blow out process inside gas turbine combustor

Abstract

In this paper a model describing flame destabilization process is presented. This model takes into account various physical processes, which lead to flame destabilization. Results of simulation show a good agreement with obtained data of test. Nevertheless, the proposed approach requires further validation and development.

Combustion characteristics management of air-aluminum flame in co-current air flow

Abstract

The report presents the results of an experimental study of combustion characteristics of an air-aluminum flame and method of management of combustion characteristics in a co-current air flow (М = 0…0,6).
The study reveals that geometry and characteristics of an air-aluminum flame combustion can be effectively managed by using circular vane swirlers and a diffusion nozzle (S = 1,8…2,0).

Lean fuel-air mixture burning in the cases of inward and outward ignition by combustion products

Abstract

The combustion model, based on the idea of combustible mixture ignition by turbulent pulsations of the burned gas moles, is proposed. The model includes increasing of lean region of ignition with temperature increase and gas swirling effect on burning rate. Comparison of the two schemes of burnings of lean mixtures in proposition of equal mass flows and velocities of fuel mixtures shows that at swirling only central flow mean burning efficiency at initial part of tube is more for inverted (outward) scheme of ignition. Full burning of mixture for tradition scheme is realized more effectively.

Infrared gas burning device developing based on twisting ejector

Abstract

There exist a number of methods for heating of materials and machine elements. But radiation method is the most effective and economical one out of them i.e. transfer of heat energy from it is source (generator) to the object by means of radiation. With regards to this infrared radiation has got the greatest interest. The heat generated by the radiating surface is similar to the sun. The gas is burning in the combustor where, heated to the specific temperature, forms a heat flux (wave radiation of infrared spectrum), directed to the heat source or to the object directly. Infrared ray falling to the surface (floor, objects, equipment) heats the surface. The air in the hot zone is heated for the second time by the heated surfaces. Heat waves immediately form comfortable microclimate in the zone.

Fuel distribution comparison analysis in three-stage swirling sprayer modules

This work devoted to investigation of frontal device with 3-stage swirler for low-emission combustion chamber.
