Abstract
In the article the reasons of crisis of the system of higher education are analyzed. The characteristics of phenomenon «wars for minds», as new, special direction, a form of competitive fight for global leadership is given. Exactly in this context the role of higher school, which mission is delivery of an intellectual product in the form of professionally advanced, creatively thinking, and passionately charged personality is viewed.
