Abstract
In the article on the material of the essay «Environment» from Dostoevsky’s «Diary of a Writer» the main theme of Russian literature - the problem of guilt, punishment and suffering is considered. The social and psychological type of public servant, a juror, is highlighted and analyzed as historiosophical type that expresses two ideological poles - «national truth» and «the truth of the environment» and provides a historical perspective of the future path of the spiritual life of Russia.
