Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of relations between state and church in the beginning of 1920-ies. One of the main events in this period was the campaign to seize church property in connection with the famine in the Volga region of 1921-1922-s. Requisitioning of church valuables pursued in more than financial and material resources, but, rather, political and ideological interests of the state.
