Abstract

The article discusses the formation of historiographical study of the preconditions of study of public authorities of USSR during the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945 in the national historical scholarship of 1940’s - early 1950’s. Political and journalistic work on the activities of government authorities were directly involved in the process of public administration and served primarily ideological functions. They are viewed as a logical prehistoriographical phase, during which they develop the necessary cognitive prerequisites for transition to in-depth scientific research of problems at subsequent stages of historiography.
