Abstract
The article is focused on the analysis of quantitative and qualitative structure of the middle class in the regions with different levels of social and economic development. On the basis of official statistical data, original sociological research of the middle class of Samara and Ulyanovsk regions, authors distinguish settlers’ and social and professional characteristics of the middle class in Russia.
